Business Analyst | Mountain View, CA | Elance Headquarters

As a Business Analyst at Elance, you will be helping the organization apply rigorous data analysis + creative problem-solving to make the right business decisions. You?ll play a critical role working with Elance product, marketing, and operations teams to tackle a range of business problems such as improving fraud detection, crafting KPI dashboards, developing custom reports for our members, etc.

Your Responsibilities:
? Develop models and reports utilizing various data sources to support business recommendation development
? Develop, enhance, and maintain in house datasets & tools
? Track key business metrics to provide input to the Executive team and functional partners
? Work with the cross functional teams (Operations, Marketing, Product, Sales) to translate requirements into technical specifications
? Apply thorough understanding of data collection and analysis methods to problem-solving

Qualifications and Requirements:
? At least two years of work experience in data analysis role
? Strong attention to detail
? Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities across multiple simultaneous projects
? Demonstrated experience in analysis and presentation of results in a clear and effective manner (via stories and/or visualizations)
? Strong willingness and self-discipline to contribute to a small team
? Solid knowledge of Oracle and SQL (mySQL, mongodb, PL/SQL knowledge a plus)
? Strong Excel skills (scripting, VBA skills or equivalent experience a plus)
? Experience with fraud detection analysis a plus
? Experience with statistical/data mining and data visualization tools a plus

Educational Requirements:
BS, preferably in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science
