Minimum Requirements: Bachelor?s degree in Civil Engineering.Must be a Professional Engineer or meet the Chartered Engineer qualification.Minimum 10 years maritime experience including oil gas terminals and container terminals, port planning and detailed design of maritime structures (quay walls, mooring and breasting dolphins, loading/unloading platforms, container yards, entry gates, breakwaters, dredging for port facilities). Experience is required both for US port facilities as well as international ports.Ability to manage multi-discipline maritime projects, coordinate with clients, prepare technical reports, as well as commercial knowledge, ability to win work and prepare proposals.Must have demonstrable experience of maritime project delivery, business development, extensive knowledge of the marine construction industry including marine energy projects, knowledge of port industry standards and design procedures, knowledge of the US business environment, and a strong understanding of commercial and legal contract terms.Must be commercially astute, be highly literate with excellent written communications skills, good client interaction and people skills, and good knowledge of IT applications especially word processing, desktop publishing and spreadsheets.Must obtain URS? IE Project Management certification within 6 months of hire.International travel will be required.
Job Description:
The Maritime Project Manager will develop and coordinate the Maritime Ports business working from a Houston office base and will lead local maritime projects and the production of high quality bids. The role will include project management responsibility, client liaison and business development, working with local office colleagues and national and international offices.Core responsibilities will include:Deliver maritime projects to time and budget.Act as the lead for the management of regional, complex, high value, multi-discipline bids.Co-ordinate team members contributing regional bids across URS.Own the maritime leads monitoring process regionally.Work with the marketing group to develop marketing collateral.Help develop, deliver and execute the annual business plan for the maritime business locally.Take responsibility for business development activities to ensure the local target maritime revenues are achieved.Work with local management and national / international colleagues to deliver maritime projects.Ensure that the local resources can operate at the leading edge of the market in terms of skills and knowledge.Help manage the Tender Board Process locally for maritime projects.Identify and lead relationships with key local clients.
